The Hut

The Becs de Bosson hut is the last one in the valley. Built in 1997 by a handful of enthusiasts, it has been enlarged in 2012 and it now offers real comfort to its hikers. Opened nearly 9 months a year, it allows you to experience the mountain throughout the 4 seasons !

Perched at an altitude of 2985m, it is situated on the borders of the Val d'Hérens, Val d'Anniviers and Vallon de Réchy. So many possibilities of paths to come and discover its 360° panorama ! From the Bishorn to the Dents du Midi, passing by the sublime Imperial Crown and its 4000 mythical, the glaciers of the Val d'Hérens, the famous Mont-Blanc...breathtaking landscapes are offered to you, from sunrise to sunset !

It is a private hut which belongs to the Société de la Cabane des Becs de Bosson.

ACCOMMODATION

It has 62 beds divided into 7 dormitories. The beds are equipped with nordic duvets and pillows. Extra blankets are available if needed. Meat bags are compulsory. You can buy them on the spot for 9.- CHF per unit if you don't have any. The toilets are inside and you have a hot shower at 10.- CHF in the summer (depending on the water supply). Remember to bring your own towels and hygiene products. Electricity is available during dinner from 19h to 21h, remember to recharge at that time!

FOOD AND MEALS

The kitchen is open from 11am to 3pm and we offer a reduced menu all day long. We favour local artisans. You will therefore find products from the Salaisons d'Anniviers, raclette from Saint-Martin, bread from the Salamin bakery in Grimentz or the La Promenade bakery in Suen. All our wines come from local cellars, such as the Paradou cellar in Nax, the Mathieu cellar in Chalais and the Ossona cellar in Saint Martin. You can also quench your thirst with a good Mont-Noble beer produced in Nax.

For supper, we prepare a vegetable soup, a meat and its accompaniment as well as a dessert. Please let us know if you have any food allergies before you come so that we can prepare menus adapted to your needs.

Finally, you can reserve picnics for the next day when you arrive. We adapt our picnics to your needs (vegetarian, gluten free...).

We do not make the kitchen available for the preparation of individual meals.

EQUIPMENT AND ENERGY

No glaciers or rivers here!!! We have neither drinking water nor running water. So you can buy mineral water on the spot. The water for the general functioning comes from melting snow and precipitation. Our stocks are therefore variable and highly dependent on weather conditions.

Electricity is supplied by the solar panels and supplemented by the generator. We therefore do not have continuous electricity. Electric sockets are available during dinner from 7pm to 9pm, remember to recharge at that time. (no electricity in the morning !!!).

The hut has 3 wood stoves for heating.

WASTE

Sorting is de rigueur at the cabin. We are very attentive to waste management and the descent to the plain. We compost food waste and sort PET, paper and glass. We do part of the descent on foot, by pick-up and even paragliding sometimes! We would also be grateful if you could bring your own waste down.

DOGS

Dogs are not allowed in the hut except for avalanche dogs in winter.

WINTER ROOM

There is no winter room. The hut is only accessible in the presence of the keepers.
